5 Google AdWords Tips
For all you Internet marketing novices, here are some good tips and tricks you can use when promoting our affiliate programs using Google AdWords:
1. Sign up for Google Analytics and post the tracking code on your landing page - always use your own domain when buying keywords, and place your affiliate links and banners on your own landing page. Then track the states of your visitors who convert from the click. View the map in Google Analytics - pick out the states who are converting. Then change your Google AdWords account to only show your ads to those states.
2. Never buy keywords for a program that you wouldn’t buy online yourself. I made the mistake of buying keywords for expensive jewelry and it ended up biting me.
3. Pick a good niche then search Google for yourself and look for the sponsored ads on the right - if you see less than 8 ads listed, bid bid bid! There are less and less of these lesser known niches nowadays, but you can profit from the ones that are still out there.
4 . Pause your ads from 2am to 5am EST at least. I like to use tracking software to determine the times of the sales so I can further increase my ROI.
5. Enhance your tracking software on your ads. I’ve used CrazyEgg.com before and it’s great to find out where your users are clicking. Design your landing page around that.
